Newbuilding
In terms of report, Clients of India’s Great Eastern Shipping have signed a single MR newbuilding at STX Dalian for delivery late 2015, with options for further additional sister vessels.   
Clients of Thenamaris are reported to have placed an order for two 180,000 DWT capsize vessels for delivery 2014 at SWS.
 To start 2013, Jiangsu Ocean Shipping (JOSCO) have signed a contract for two 61,000 DWT bulk carriers at NACKS also for delivery in 2014.
In the gas sector, Clients of Ultragas have ordered two semi‐ref 22,000 cbm LPG vessels from STX SB, with Clients of Tomza following suit with an order for a single 82,000 cbm VLGC unit at HHI reportedly costing USD 73.50 Mill. Both orders are due for delivery in 2014. Client of Maran Gas have ordered four firm plus two 174,000 cbm LNG vessels at Hyundai Samho for a reported USD 210 Mill each with delivery in 2015.
 
Drycargo
In the panamax market the MV “DIAMOND STREAM” (abt 76,741 dwt Sasebo 2006) has been sold to an undisclosed buyer at the second time of asking for a solid price of $17.5m. MV “KONMAX” (abt 72,270 dwt Imabari 2000) and MV “BRAVE STAR” (abt 73,992 dwt Tsuneishi Zosen 2000) are reported to be sold in the region of usd 10‐10.5m each to Greek interests. Lastly the MV “CEMTEX RENAISSANCE” (abt 71,663 dwt Hitachi 1998) has been sold for a price in excess of $8m with her SS due in March 2013 to Greek buyers.
In the supramax market the MV “CHRISTINE STAR” and “HARMONY STAR” (abt 56,850 dwt Cosco Dalian 2011 C4x30T) have been sold to unknown buyers for a price in the region of $17m each. Clients of Precious Shipping have purchased two Indian built Diamond 53’ supramax units MV “GOOD PRECEDENT” and “GOOD PRIDE” (abt 53,840 dwt Hindustan S.Y 2011/2010 C4x36T) for $14.25m and $13.25m respectively from Good Earth Maritime interests.
In the handysize market the MV “KEN JYO” (abt 23,583 dwt Saiki 1996 C4x30T) for $4.8m and the overaged handymax bulker MV“MARILLION” (abt 41,796 Hyundai H.I 1986 C4x25T) FOR $3.1M to middle eastern buyers.
 
Tanker
In the tanker S&P market, the 'LOTUS EXPRESS' about 45,789 dwt, built MINAMI NIPPON 2003 was sold to Greeks at usd 15.5 million. In the Aframax sector we have seen 2x sister ships sold by the mortgagees to Greeks at excess usd 30 million enbloc ‐ both Vessels were sold with SS/DD freshly passed, namely the ex 'BRITISH HAWTHORN' & 'BRITISH LAUREL' about 106,500 dwt, built TSUNEISHI ZOSEN 2003 & 2002. The CLIPPER TRINIDAD (ABT 8,823
DWT, BLT 98 HITACHI MUKAISH) DH FULLY STST, sold to Far Eastern buyers at low USD 5 million.
 
Recycling
Indian Sub-Conti­nent breakers appear to be fairly strong with increased price offerings close
to 430$/ldt levels and sometimes well beyond these.  Prices for wet tonnages were at around 390-425USD/ltd and dry units were seeing levels of about 375-400USD/ldt.
The following sale has been reported this week:
Container ‘Irenes Dream’ – built 1991 Korea, 47,272 dwt, 11,943 ldt – sold basis delivery India region USD 459.00 per ldt.
